Dr. (Prof.) Pankaj Chettri is Associate Director(Student Affairs) in Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) since November 2024. He is also Additional Registrar in SMIT since August 2017. He is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics, SMIT. He is also the Chairperson of Institute Scholarship Committee, APIO(Assistant Public Information Officer), etc. He has about 22 years of teaching experience.

    He obtained his B. Sc. (Honours) degree in Mathematics from Darjeeling Govt. College, M. Sc in Mathematics and Ph. D in the area of Fuzzy Topology from University of North Bengal, Siliguri.in 2011.

    He had held the administrative posts of Assistant Registrar(Academics), Deputy Registrar(Academics), Cultural Teacher In-charge, Hostel Warden, Department Time Table officer etc .in SMIT. He is also the chairman/member of various committees constituted by the Department, Institute, and University.

    Prof. Chettri has published several research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals and also presented research papers at various conferences. His area of interest includes Topology, Fuzzy Topology, Generalized Topology, Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, etc. He is a member of the editorial board and also a reviewer of various peer-reviewed international journals. Some research scholars are pursuing their Ph. D degree under his guidance.

His hobbies include Travelling, Music, Photography etc.
