Prof. Anand Prakash Tiwary is currently serving as Associate Director (Student Affairs) as well as Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. He obtained his B. Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) Itnaganar, Arunachal Pradesh, M. Tech degree in Energy Technology from Tezpur University, Assam and Ph. D. degree from Production Engineering Department of Jadavpur University, Kolkata in the area of Micromachining.

Prof. Tiwary has worked with GIAN-NE, IIT Guwahati & National Innovation Foundation, India (An autonomous Institution under Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India) in the capacity of Asst. Manager (Product Development). He had held the positions of Chief Warden and Chairman, Admission in SMIT. He is also the chairman of various committees constituted by the Institute/University from time to time.

He has authored a number of research papers in reputed peer reviewed international journals as well as presented research papers in various national and international conferences. His research areas of interest include Micromachining and Non-conventional machining. He is a reviewer of various peer reviewed international journals. A number of research scholars are pursuing their PhD degree under his supervision.
