SMIT RESEARCH

SIKKIM MANIPAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (SMIT), since the day of its inception in the year 1997, has come a long way and achieved credibility in the field of research in science, technology and management. There are good numbers of sponsored projects under the supervision of faculty members from various agencies like AICTE, DST, DBT, DeitY, DRDO, SERB, ISRO and SMU.

Students have also proven their technical talents in terms of innovations and have taken part in many national technical forums.

The research activities are in general across all the departments of SMIT. Out of these research activities SMIT has developed very good infrastructural facilities. These facilities are now not only being used by the faculty members but the students are also using these facilities for their project work. Every year SMIT is providing a large amount of fund which is being used for research work. A large number of research students are enrolling with PhD program every year. Academic research focuses on the creation of new ideas, perspectives, and arguments covering varied aspects of advancement of theoretical knowledge to the development of new technology to simply and solves practical problems. Research outcomes of all the Departments and Centre have been published in peer reviewed and indexed journals.
