OVERVIEW

Department of Mathematics started functioning with strength of two faculty members since the inception of the University with the approval of UGC, in 1997. Initially, the main objective of the department was to cater to the needs of different engineering departments. Gradually, it started growing and became a potential basic science department supported by well-qualified faculty members with distinguished educational background from leading Indian institutes and universities, who are instrumental in building a strong base in different areas of higher mathematics.

From the academic year 2022-2023, the department is offering B.Sc. programme in Mathematics and Computing. This programme will equip the students with strong foundations both in Mathematics and computational aspects, thereby making them ready for software industry, as well as career progression in masters programme in Mathematics and computing.

The department is also running M. Sc. Programme in Mathematics since 2003. Students with ambition of higher studies may join this program on successful completion of B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computing.
