The event started on 4/11/24 at 5:30 PM with Torsha Guha, a Team of officials from SRF, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, marking the beginning of the handing-over ceremony
The President, Mr. Kunal Sharma, Department of Computer Science & Engineering extended a warm welcome to all attendees, formally setting the tone for the proceedings, followed by Secretary, Mayank Jaiswal, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Torsha then invited Prof. Chandrashekhar Bhuiyan from the Department of Civil Engineering to deliver the welcome address. Following the welcome, Prof. Bhuiyan felicitated the Executive Board of Members, Jitam Bharadwaj, Department of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Data Science (DS), Marli Bagra, Department of Civil Engineering, Mriganka Dey, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Ankita Banerjee, Department of Management Studies, and active members receiving mementos and tokens of appreciation. Faculty members, Dr. Hari Bhakta Sharma, Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering, Dr. Kalpana Panigrahi, Assistant Professor in Management Studies, and Ex-Chairperson, Dr. S. Visalakshi, Assistant Professor in Computer Applications, shared their experiences, learnings, and feedback during their tenure. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Chairperson Dr. Joydeep Biswas, Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Chemistry. Senior members and EBMs’also reflected on their personal experiences and insights. Torsha closed the ceremony with a few final remarks, after which attendees gathered for a group photograph followed by high tea.
Increased Engagement in Seminars and Conferences: The council aims to actively participate in more seminars and conferences, encouraging members to publish and share innovative ideas.
Magazine Publications: A target of publishing at least two magazines in the coming tenure, with one issue planned for release by the end of February. Featured articles will include topics like "Encrypted Communication & Symmetric Algorithm," which generated significant engagement.
Record Seminar and Workshop Conduct: This year saw the highest number of seminars and workshops organized, fostering greater academic and professional development.
Successful Website Launch for SRF, SMIT: The official website for SRF at SMIT was successfully launched, providing a centralized platform for information and resources.
Successful Execution of The Student Research Colloquium 2024, SMU: The event was well-received, showcasing student research and promoting collaborative learning across disciplines.
