Theme: An event to revisit the rich culture and heritage of Sikkim

Event Introduction and description:

• With immense pleasure, AIESEC in Sikkim launched its first annual premiere initiative held physically, 'Sifting Sikkim'. Filled with fun engaging activities, a presentation about the tourism sector, a few lines by our honorable chief guest Mr. Prashant Pakhrin (Assistant Director of tourism in Sikkim) from the Tourism department, cultural dance and singing performance for the students of Sikkim Manipal University, ‘Sifting Sikkim’ was an attempt to inculcate and revisit the rich cultural heritage of Sikkim and it’s tourist places worth visiting among the youth.

Agenda of the event:  

Day 1- 24/05/2022

1. Inauguration of the event, Introduction of AIESEC, Chief guest & partners for the event.
2. Diya lighting by honorable Chief guest and Associate Directors of SMIT.
3. Speech by Associate Director (Academics) of SMIT.
4. Speech by Chief Guest.
5. A short presentation on the rich tourism sector of Sikkim.
6. Band performance by Chromatix.
7. Mr. Lakshmi Prasad Sharma (Media Consultant in the Sikkim Tourism department) performed a song.
8. Testimonial of Naman Tandon, went for an exchange.
9. A few slides on the relevance and importance of cultural exchanges in today’s World and inspiring stories by an exchange participant.
10. Dance performance by Illusion.
11. A space by our partner.
12. Vote of Thanks
13. Fun engagement activities for the delegates.

Event Venue: Amphitheatre, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.

Participants: All participants were from SMIT.

What worked for us -

• Reaching out to prospective companies, media pages, and other stakeholders to onboard them as mutually benefitting partners for our event.
• Fulfillment of event objectives (i.e. inculcating the rich cultural heritage and tourism industry of Sikkim)
• Logistical support and arrangement.
• Fulfilling partnership deliverables.
• Improving the brand presence of AIESEC in Sikkim.
• Coordination, teamwork, agility and risk management displayed by the students of AIESEC in Sikkim studying at SMIT.

1)       A speaker from the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department to attend the event as a chief guest and deliver a short speech.

2)      Distributing prizes to the winners of engagement activities.

3)      AIESEC in Sikkim would share marketing creatives with integrated logo with the Tourism department.
