It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that we have received overwhelming response regarding the 

5-Day Workshop on “OFFICIAL STATISTICS AND DATA SCIENCE ESSENTIALS: SAMPLING, VISUALIZATION, REPORTING”,

starting from February 19^th to 23^rd 2024, SMIT, Sikkim, India is being jointly organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Department Information Technology, SMIT, Sikkim & Sampling and Official Statistic Unit, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata.

This five days Data Science Workshop is designed to empower undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and faculty members across diverse domains with crucial skills in Official Statistics, sampling, data collection, survey techniques, and data analysis using Python. Participants will also delve into the realm of data visualization, honing their abilities to effectively communicate data-driven insights. Furthermore, the workshop will cover essential aspects of report writing, enabling attendees to convey their findings to various stakeholders with proficiency in Python based data analysis.

The topics to be covered in the workshop include Introduction to Official Statistics and Data Science, Data Collection, Surveys, and Ethical Considerations, Data Visualization and Exploratory Data Analysis with Python, Data Analysis and Inferential Statistics using Python, Effective Report Writing and Communicating Data Insights.
