My dear students, Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is part of the Manipal Education and Medical Group that operates universities in India and overseas. Among these, SMU has been at the forefront of providing medical and engineering education in the Eastern and NorthEastern regions of our country, since the late 1990s.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) is a constituent college of SMU was set up in 1997; over the years, it has established itself as a premier engineering institute. Likewise, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS), a constituent college of SMU, established in 1999, is amongst the leading medical schools in this region.

Today, SMU is a multidisciplinary university with a strong faculty base and superior infrastructure. It has, since long, been endeavoring to meet the academic aspirations of our students.
