Sikkim Manipal Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts at Sikkim Manipal University is a constituent unit as a centre for research and teaching composed of academics from four different disciplines namely English, Sociology, Political Science and Commerce. Apart from its undergraduate B.A and B. Com courses which include uniquely designed content as per NEP 2020 offered by members of faculty, the SMU unit offers highly interdisciplinary areas of expertise and investigation in its MA, M. Com, and Ph. D programmes. The SMU unit collaborates with related Indian as well as international institutions in projects and workshops to promote and produce cutting-edge work in humanities and social sciences. Placing a high premium on research output and outreach, the unit consistently publishes academic articles, project reports and monographs which corroborate the quality of work undertaken by its faculty, fellows, and researchers.

Together, we will foster the development of tomorrow’s leaders who will emerge from their studies ready to excel and contribute to the betterment of our local and global communities. | Sikkim Manipal Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts shall disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem relevant and to make provisions for integrated courses in commerce, humanities, social sciences and allied disciplines in the educational programmes of the University aligning with the NEW EDUCATIONAL POLICY 2020; to take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching-learning processes, inter-disciplinary studies and research; to educate and train manpower for the development of the state in particular and the country in general ; to pay special attention to the improvements of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people of the State, their intellectual, academic and cultural development. |
