Event: Special Lecture on Commodity Derivatives for the students and faculties of Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts (FHSSLA) & Management dept. , Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT)            

 

The special lecture on the Awareness Programme on Commodity Derivatives, an initiative during World Investor Week – Oct 14-20, 2024, held on 19.10.2024 at Lecture Hall III, SMIMS Building, Sikkim Manipal University. It was a highly enriching and insightful event organized by Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences & Liberal Arts (FHSSLA), SMU.

 

The objective of the lecture was to address the issues on the following themes:

  1. Introduction to commodity derivatives market,
  2. The Need and Benefit of Futures Trading,
  3. Price Risk Management and Delivery Solutions,
  4. Do’s & Don’t of the commodity derivatives market,

 

The event featured the esteemed speakers Shri Samraj Nair, Business Development Officer of Multi-Commodity Exchange of India (MCX). He brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the lecture, making it a valuable opportunity for the attendees to learn.

The event witnessed a robust turnout of around 100 plus participants from FHSSLA & SMIT. The diverse audience contributed to a vibrant atmosphere, fostering engagement and interactive discussions. Dr. Madan Chhetri, Coordinator, FHSSLA, SMU coordinated the whole event along with the welcome address by Ms Deepa Sharma followed by vote of thanks addressed by Dr Aditya Rai.
