OVERVIEW

 

  • The Department of Commerce offers programs in B.Com.(Hons) as per NEP 2020 and M. Com with specialization in Accounting and Finance with a view to impart the students with in-depth knowledge and skills necessary for a professional in Accounting, Finance, Financial Markets, Taxation, Economics, Financial Management etc.
  • The department aims to merge academics with industry to make the students job ready and impart the necessary skills needed in a dynamic and competitive environment.
  • The goal of the Bachelor and Master program in Commerce is to give students a solid foundation in accounting and finance, set them up for a lucrative career in these fields, and support the expansion and advancement of the business and accounting sectors.

Sikkim Manipal Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts will be a leader in delivering outstanding experiential learning opportunities that encourage our students to develop to their full potential in both the classroom and the community. Together, we will foster the development of tomorrow’s leaders who will emerge from their studies ready to excel and contribute to the betterment of our local and global communities.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Sikkim Manipal Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts shall disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem relevant and to make provisions for integrated courses in commerce, humanities, social sciences and allied disciplines in the educational programmes of the University aligning with the NEW EDUCATIONAL POLICY 2020; to take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching-learning processes, inter-disciplinary studies and research; to educate and train manpower for the development of the state in particular and the country in general ; to pay special attention to the improvements of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people of the State, their intellectual, academic and cultural development.
