Conducted by: 1st year M.Sc. Nursing (2024-2026 batch) Department of Community Health Nursing and Child Health Nursing.

 

 

OBJECTIVE: The main objective of the program was to impart knowledge on Substance Abuse and its Prevention to school students.

THE PROGRAMME: 1st year M.Sc. Nursing (2024-2026 batch) Department of Community Health Nursing and Child Health Nursing students from Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) organized a School Health Program on topic Substance Abuse and Its Prevention at Majitar Government secondary School. The Program started with a welcome speech by M.C. accompanied by felicitation of guest, School In-charge sir Manoj Century, SMCON faculty Professor. Reshma Tamang (HOD Child Health Nursing) and Assistant Professor Pranita Sharma (Dept. of Community Health Nursing) and staff from the Majitar government school. Around 100 students (from class 6 to 10) attended the program. M. Sc. nursing students provided health talk on awareness on Substance Abuse and Its Prevention with the help of role play and attractive AV- aids. A quiz round was also organized to evaluate knowledge of the students on the above-mentioned topic and a small token of appreciation was provided to the students who participated actively, followed by Positive feedback from School In-charge Sir Manoj Century. The program ended with a vote of thanks by MC and distribution of refreshment.
