BRIEF DESCRIPTION/REPORT WITH GEO-TAGGED PHOTOGRAPH OR SCREEN SHOTS:

Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) organized a joyful pre-Diwali celebration and Ethnic day at the CDOE on 24th October 2024 at 3:30 PM. The event brought together all the faculty and staff, who celebrated the day with great enthusiasm. The conference hall was beautifully decorated with colourful balloons and lights, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The celebration also coincided with the birthday of our dedicated attender, whose immense contribution to the CDOE was acknowledged with a heartfelt celebration. Everyone gathered to express their appreciation, and the birthday was celebrated with utmost happiness.

The primary objectives of this event were:

  1. To celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, and its significance.
  2. To promote unity by celebrating ethnic diversity within our community.
  3. To provide a platform for all teaching and non-teaching staff to showcase their cultural heritage through attire.

Director, CDOE, SMU, Prof (Dr.) Sourav Dhar addressed the gathering with a speech, highlighting the importance of coming together for such events. All faculty members participated in the celebration dressed in vibrant ethnic wear, adding to the festive spirit. The event also included a cake-cutting ceremony followed by delicious snacks, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The day ended on a joyful note, leaving everyone in high spirits and a shared sense of community.
