Event: Orientation on Research Activities

A special lecture session  on the Orientation on Research Activities was held on 06.05.2024 at Lecture Hall of FHSSLA, Sikkim Manipal University. It was a highly enriching and insightful event organized with the presence of the resource person Professor (Dr.) Kalpana Sharma, Director, DoR, Sikkim Manipal University along with Professor (Dr.) KS Sherpa, Registrar, SMU.

The objectives of the lecture were to address the issues on the following:

1. To provide a platform where faculty members could interact, seek advice and gain valuable insights on research.
2. Awareness on various Research Incentives/funds and grants available at SMU and publication strategies.
3. Awareness on the Pre-Publication Review Committee, Student representation in research, Mentor Mentee Scheme, interdisciplinary project in collaboration with Manipal Group Universities.

Key Highlights:

• The session was highly engaging, informative, and well-received by the faculty members. The interactive nature of the session encouraged active participation and lively discussions.
• The content of the presentation was comprehensive, insightful, and relevant.
• The delivery style of the speakers were well- articulated, and professional, which effectively captivated the attention of the audience and maintained their interest throughout the session.
• The feedback received from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the valuable insights gained and the practical tips provided on research opportunities at SMU.
