Sikkim Manipal College of Physiotherapy organized its 23rd Orientation Day Program on 1st August 2024. 

The program saw the presence of the following esteemed dignitaries gracing the occasion.

  • Respected Chief Guest Air Vice Marshal Dr. Dilip Chandra Agarwal, VSM, Vice Chancellor SMU
  • Guest of Honour Dr Muralidhar V Pai,  Dean SMIMS
  • Special Guest Dr. Karma Sonam Sherpa, Registrar SMU
  • Special Guest Dr. Keerthilatha M Pai, Controller of Examination, SMU, and Head of Quality Assurance 

 

Event

With immense pride and pleasure SMCPT organised and welcomed its 23rd BPT Batch and 15th MPT on the 23rd Orientation Programme.  As SMCPT is committed to provide quality education that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century, the orientation day too showed a glimpse of the following:

 

1. The event started with National Anthem, Lamp lighting and a brief overview of the 7-day orientation program as recommended by UGC “Deeksharambh –Student Induction Programme (SIP)”.

2. Followed by a Welcome Address which included an encouraging walkthrough of SMCPT’s legacy, National and International accomplishments, accolades brought by alumni and overview of the college’s curriculum and student affairs by Principal SMCPT Prof. Nikita Joshi Sonowal

 

3. Dr. Bishal Bista (PT) then welcomed and introduced to the new students the Heads of different Pre- Clinical Subject departments and their respective subject coordinators.

4. Respected Guest of Honor, Dr. Muralidhar V Pai, Dean SMIMS addressed the gathering with his presence, and enlightening words and congratulated SMCPT and team for achieving the 4th Rank among private institutions pan-India Outlook ICARE 2024.

 

5.  Respected Chief Guest Air Vice Marshal Dr. Dilip Chandra Agarwal, VSM, Vice Chancellor SMU addressed the gathering with his presence, and kind words which have always been a guiding light to our students and team

 

6. The program was then paused for a brief tea break followed by Orientation of the new batch to Physiotherapy Dept. faculty members and an interaction session with their allotted Teacher Guardians and parents.  

The students were then divided into 3 batches for further university and department orientation, health check-up, uniform and document verification which will continue till the end of the week.
