BRIEF DESCRIPTION / REPORT WITH GEO-TAGGED PHOTOGRAPHS

As part of the Academic Dialogue Series organised by the Research Committee of the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Sikkim Manipal University (SMU), Lecture 3 on Research Methodology was conducted as a webinar on 18 December 2025. The session featured Dr. Saswati Saha, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Sikkim University, and commenced at 6:00 PM.

The proceedings were formally initiated by Ms. Mrinalini Subba, followed by effective moderation by Mr. Partha Debnath. The lecture focused on foundational principles of research methodology, formulation of research questions, and the selection of appropriate methods to bridge theory and practice.

Dr. Saswati Saha shared valuable insights into research design, epistemological foundations, methodological empiricism, and ethical research practices. The session promoted analytical rigour and independent scholarly inquiry across disciplines.

The webinar witnessed enthusiastic participation from CDOE faculty, staff, and learners across various CDOE programmes. A lively interactive question-and-answer session enriched the academic exchange. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Tenzin Nyima Bhutia, with special appreciation extended to Dr. Ishwer Shivakoti, Assistant Director, CDOE, for his continuous support and guidance. A feedback form was subsequently shared with the participants.
