The paramedical course were started in the year 2019 currently department of Allied Health Professions, under Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS), Sikkim Manipal University, Sikkim.

Having established a firm footing in the field of Allied Health- care education today, the department stemmed with the intent to provide educational innovation, advance knowledge and educate student to contribute positively to Health- care system.

Key Features

  • Dissection hall is equipped with a revolving camera, display screen, WIFI, prosected and undissected specimens.
  • Histology lab is furnished with over 100 self-illuminated, mono-ocular microscopes, magnus microscope with CCD camera attached to LCD monitor for demonstration of histology slides and WIFI.
  • Research Lab for conducting histopathological and immunohistochemical studies is endowed with working tables, microtomes, cryostat, western blot tanks and many other equipment’s.
  • Small and large lecture halls are facilitated with LCD projector, portable OHP, WIFI and online class recording tools.
  • The Department additionally hosts seminars, conferences, webinar for students and faculties regularly and collaborates with other departments of SMIMS, and with the Biomolecular Research Unit of Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom and Clinical Anatomy Unit, University of Bristol, United Kingdom for fully funded intra and extramural research activities.
