The SMIMS RU shall support the activities of the following Offices & Committees under the arena of SMIMS Research
The office is managed by the Faculty I/c appointed by the Dean, SMIMS. The Faculty I/c is supported by a Junior Assistant from the Central Library deputed on part time basis. The Office of the Research Unit has the following scope
The RPEC is been formed with Dean – SMIMS as the Chairperson. The Chairperson of RPEC would also serve as the Head of the SMIMS Research Unit. The mandate of RPEC is to review the research project proposals of faculty, UG & PG candidates for the scientific validity. All research project proposals by default requires clearance from RPEC.
The IEC is an empowered committee having members of the institute and external members formed on recommendation of Dean, SMIMS and approved by the Vice Chancellor, Sikkim Manipal University. One of the external members would serve as the Chairperson of the committee. The mandate of IEC is to review the research project proposals of faculty, UG & PG candidates for the ethical issues.
The PEC is been formed with a Chairperson nominated by the Dean – SMIMS for the purpose of evaluating the faculty publications and to provide recommendations to Dean – SMIMS for award of remuneration to the faculty for the same.
