General Surgery department of SMIMS is not only devoted to patient care, but also academic and research activities.
Many major operations are done in daily by our dedicated team of surgeons. We deal mostly hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal surgery along with other abdominal surgeries. Surgery of breast, thyroid, various hernias, ano-rectal diseases, conventional urogenital, reconstructive, trauma and emergency cases and other allied general surgical procedures are also routinely performed.
General Surgery department of SMIMS is well equipped to provide facilities of laparoscopic surgeries, including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, inguinal and ventral hernia repairs as well as other advanced laparoscopic procedures.
Department of General Surgery is one of the oldest departments running a post-graduation program; and has a robust academic schedule for both under-graduate and post-graduate programs.
