Overview

The Department of Microbiology was established in the year 2000, March. It is involved in the teaching and training of undergraduate  & PG medical students , PhD, BPT,  BMLT, MSc (Medical Microbiology & Biotechnology). The diagnostic laboratory for the patient care service is provided in the central laboratory in CRH as well as in the department.

 

The laboratory is equipped with modern technology for advance study and diagnosis such as, ELISA, ViteK, BacteK, Turbicon and RTPCR etc. The department has been the center for research for faculty and students. A number of research grants have been obtained from ICMR and several research papers were published in the indexed journals.

 

Several workshops and CME/Seminars were conducted by the department. The parasitology section has been registered for EQAS under IATP.
