NATIONAL SEMINAR ON RECENT ADVANCEMENTS ON TREATMENT OF CEREBRAL PALSY

The two day National Seminar on Recent Advancements on treatment of Cerebral Palsy, organized jointly by Sri Vivekananda National Institute of  Rehabilitation Training And Research , Odisha, Composite Regional Centre , Guwahati and Sikkim Manipal College of Physiotherapy, Gangtok in technical collaboration with Indian Academy of Cerebral Palsy.

It was a fortunate event for the 300 plus participants who were Graduates, Post Graduates and Special Educators along with doctors from SMIMS and STNM and other stakeholders coming from different parts of the state and various organisations.

The two days’ workshop was appreciated by the participants who were exposed to the recent trends on management of Cerebral Palsy and made aware regarding the acts governing a person with disability. The resource persons put emphasis on happiness aspect and simplicity prevailing amongst the people of Sikkim. The occurrence of C.P in Sikkim was considerably lower than the country’s average which was mentioned as a positive factor towards health promotion and role of special educators in the state.
