In view of the “Anti-ragging week Mahotsav” initiated by UGC, 2024 and as an important measure to spread awareness against ragging, an interactive session was organized by the Department of Medical Biotechnology, SMIMS. The session was moderated by Mrs. Chamma Gupta, Lecturer, Department of Medical Biotechnology, SMIMS.  The session was attended by a total of 45 BSc and MSc Medical Biotechnology Students and other faculties of the department.

The session included speech and talks from four BSc and MSc 1^st year and 2^nd Year Medical Biotechnology Students followed by an interactive session among the newly admitted students and the senior students of Medical Biotechnology. The session was highlighted with the components, importance, significance, the punishable acts of ragging, effects of ragging on its victims, bridging the gap between junior and senior batches and students were encouraged to collectively take a stand against ragging. The students were also made aware of the code of conduct and other policies with reference to institutional and UGC regulations.
