Report on webinar “Universal health coverage in times of COVID-19: Practices and Challenges ”  held on 29^th June 2021.

Overview: Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) had organized a national webinar titled “Universal health coverage in times of COVID-19: Practices and Challenges” on 29^th June 2021 from 3 pm to 4 pm in Microsoft Teams (MST) Platform.

The objective of the webinar was to update the knowledge of the target group on universal health coverage during ongoing pandemic and what are the practices and the challenges faced by health professionals and others in this difficult time. The webinar was attended by 203 participants from various institutions/organizations of different parts of the country.

Programme: The webinar began with a welcome note by Mrs. M. Thoibi Devi, Associate Professor, SMCON moderator of the webinar. The speaker of the session Dr. Neetha Kamath, HOD, Community Health Nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Mangalore had given more insight into the topic. She explained  different health care practices of our country and also highlighted the challenges faced in implementing the health care services especially during this pandemic.  She also highlighted that pandemic cannot be led by the health system alone; empowering community with information on self-protection measures is equally important.

Feedback: Participants were asked to give their feedback in a structured feedback questionnaire containing 7 questions. Majority of the participants expressed that the webinar was very informative and the knowledge gained by them will be helpful for day to day clinical/community practice. The overall organization and deliverance of the webinar was helpful and satisfied the participants.
