Webinar report on “COVID 19 AND PREGNANCY”

  • On February, 26th, Dept. of Ob. Gyn Nursing, SMCON organized a virtual national webinar on COVID 19 AND PREGNANCY”. The virtual platform was open to all the participants and approximately 112 participants attended the programme. The programme started with a welcome speech and orientation by the moderator, Mrs. Anila Jorden Bhutia, Assistant Lecturer, Dept. of Ob. Gyn Nursing, SMCON. Before the beginning of the lecture session Mrs. Arkierupaia Shadap, Associate Professor, Dept. of Ob. Gyn Nursing, SMCON gave a brief introduction for speakers of the session. 
  • She highlighted the testing, treatment, vaccination and breastfeeding in pregnancy during COVID-19. During and after the session, participants were given the opportunity to post their question and queries which were answered by both the experts at the end of the session. The doubts and hesitant attitude towards COVID-19 vaccination for pregnant women were clarified.  
  • Instructions on the webinar were highlighted to the participants clearly by the moderator just before the session. To maintain the interest of the participants the webinar was divided into two different sessions. The first session was enlightened by Dr. Enu Boro, Assistant Professor, Department of OBG Nursing, Regional College of Nursing, Guwahati. She spoke on the effect of pregnancy by COVID 19 during antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal along with the high-risk assessment. The second session was discussed by Prof. Binita Khati, HOD, Dept. of Ob. Gyn Nursing, SMCON.
  • The session ended with Vote of thanks by Mrs Anila Jorden Bhutia. In a nutshell, the webinar could disseminate the latest information to the target group related to Covid-19 and pregnancy. Feedback of
    the participants was incorporated for future reference and e-certificate was provided to all the participants 48 hrs post webinar.
