The SMIT Campus located at Majitar, East Sikkim near West Bengal – Sikkim border is spread over 35 acres in a picturesque valley surrounded by green hills blessed with nature’s finest gifts on the banks of river Teesta. The state-of-the-art campus is the home of over 3000 students, over 200 faculties and a large and efficient team of support staff and the international standard infrastructure is an ideal set up for quality education, healthy lifestyle and all-round growth of the students.
SMIT is a fully residential institute with separate hostel for boys and girls, providing a home away from home to over 3000 students. There are separate students’ mess and canteen for boys and girls providing vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals and a food court for all.

SMIT hostel rooms are double bedded with attached toilet, comfortably-furnished and make for a good home away from home. Girls and boys have separate blocks and each block has a fixed capacity.
In this kind of accommodation, students have access to TV room ( Indoor for girls hostel & in amphitheater for boys hostels) , Water Coolers for RO fed cold and normal drinking water and other leisure/sports activities within the hostel premises. Also includes the following facilities:
The Manager Administration is the Chief Security officer of the Campus.
The campus though located in a hilly terrain has adequate indoor and outdoor sports facilities to include Football, Badminton, Squash, Cricket, Tennis, Table tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Swimming pool, Aerobics and Gymnasium. The college has highly qualified Male & Lady Sports officer always available in the campus responsible for coaching and conduct of various sports events. All outdoor court/play ground has flood lights.
Depending on the semester, the inter-department sports competitions are categorized as Odd Semester Sports competitions and Even Semester sports competitions. The details of the events are published in semester wise sports calendar.
The college team takes part in tournaments organized by colleges/sports organizations across the country.
There is a 24x7 Health center in the campus having 05 Beds, 02 Resident Doctors, 03 Nurses & a medical attendant. The medical team takes care of routine medical cases and emergency treatment. All cases requiring specialist opinion are referred to Central Referral Hospital, Gangtok. Two Ambulances are available at the campus for shifting of medical cases to CRH.
