The Alumni Engagement Cell (AEC), Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), successfully organized a Virtual Alumni Talk on March 29, 2025. The event featured Mr. Harsh Jhunjhunwala, Head of QA (Automation Division) at Chip, United Kingdom, and an esteemed alumnus of B.Tech (CSE), Batch 2008-2012. Over 70 students, faculty members, and alumni representatives attended the session virtually.
The event began on schedule with a warm welcome extended to the speaker by Prof (Dr) Udit Kumar Chakraborty, HOD, CSE and Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Head of the Alumni Engagement Cell. Following the welcome, Neha, a B.Tech student, introduced Mr. Jhunjhunwala and highlighted his remarkable professional journey and achievements.
During his talk, Mr. Jhunjhunwala shared invaluable insights and guidance from the industry, drawing from his four-year academic journey at SMIT. He discussed the importance of innovation in the industry, AI adoption, and the future of technology. Additionally, he guided students on how to prepare for upcoming hiring opportunities, enhance their skill sets, and craft impressive resumes.
The session also featured an engaging Q&A segment, where students sought advice on business strategies and industry trends. Mr. Jhunjhunwala's practical and inspiring responses left a positive impact on the participants.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Jitendra Kumar, expressing gratitude to the speaker for his valuable time and contributions to his alma mater.
