Dr. Joydeep Biswas, is an Assistant Professor Selection Grade at Dept of Chemistry, SMIT. He has joined SMIT on 2013. He completed his Masters from BHU Varanasi. He completed his PhD from IISc Bangalore with NET JRF/SRF. His areas of research are Organic chemistry, Biomaterials, Computational Chemistry and Nanomaterials. One PhD Scholar got her degree awarded under his supervision. He has published more than 45 international articles and book chapters. Currently Dr. Joydeep is the Chairperson of Student Research Forum, SMIT Campus.

The workshop, facilitated by Dr. Joydeep Biswas, an esteemed scholar and Assistant Professor, who is also the chairperson of SRF, highlighted the significance of research in academia today, focusing on the process of selecting appropriate journals for publication.
Dr. Biswas emphasized the importance of research skills and discussed various stages of research, from manuscript framing to journal selection. Key aspects such as Impact Factor, Peer Reviews, and the H-Index were thoroughly explained. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, fostering student engagement and motivation for future research endeavours. Dr. Anindita Adhikary and Dr. Jaya Rani, from the Department of Management Studies at SMIT, efficiently coordinated the event.
