BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted a 5-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) in association with Information Data Systems Inc. (IDS) under the banner of CFSD, SMIT. The FDP was executed as part of a MoU signed between SMIT and IDS earlier this year. As part of the MoU, IDS established and inaugurated the Centre of Excellence for Blockchain Research and Development at SMIT on the first day of the program.
As part of the program, the participants underwent extensive training on blockchain theory and practices including hands-on sessions on coding and designing private enterprise solutions using blockchain. The first three sessions, on 6th and 7th May 2024, were conducted by Mr. Aravind Voruganti wherein he introduced the concept of blockchain to uninitiated learners and built upon the theory and philosophy of blockchain. The subsequent session, conducted by Mr. Dayal Mukati on 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th of May 2024, included practical learning sessions using the Hedera platform.
The event was conducted in two sessions per day starting from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and 02:30 pm to 04:30 pm.
