The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), in collaboration with the All-India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the Centre for Faculty and Staff Development (CFSD) at SMIT, successfully conducted a one-day AICTE-SANKALP Awareness Workshop on High Performance Computing (HPC) on July 27, 2024.
The workshop featured Dr. Krishna Vijay Kumar Singh, a C-DAC Master Trainer and AICTE-nominated expert, who provided insightful sessions on the fundamental concepts of HPC and parallel programming, covering the following topics:
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Om Prakash Singh, Head of the Department of AI&DS and Head of the CFSD at SMIT, who delivered a welcome address that set a tone of enthusiasm and dedication at 11:00 AM. Dr. Singh emphasized the critical importance of HPC in today's technological landscape. He continued the talk with some demonstrations of experiments on the Param Utkarsh supercomputer.
AICTE-SANKALP is an initiative by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) aimed at fostering awareness and skills in High-Performance Computing (HPC) among students and faculty of technical education institutions, facilitated by AICTE Master Trainers.
