BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
On July 29-31, 2024, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) conducted a Workshop on "AI & Robotics" at Dinhata Soni Devi Jain High School, Dinhata High School, Netaji Centenary School, Putimari High School, Sahebganj High School, and Nigamananda Saraswati Vidyapith with the participation of 600 students and faculty members of the school. The day's events unfolded as follows:

On 28th July morning, we started our journey to Coochbehar from SMIT at around 11:30 AM and reached around 9:40 PM, staying that night in a hotel. On 29th July, we headed towards the Dinhata Soni Devi Jain High School and Dinhata High School. On 30th July, we visited Netaji Centenary School and Putimari High School. On 31st July, the final day of the workshop, we headed towards Sahebganj High School and Nigamananda Saraswati Vidyapith.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the workshop coordinators of the respective schools and began arranging the necessary setup for the workshop. The session started with an introduction by Dr. Dipanjan Bhattacharjee, who provided a detailed discussion about AI & Robotics. The theoretical part was followed by a hands-on practical session where students assembled kits, wrote programs, and implemented code to operate robots.

A total of 600 students from grades XI and XII, along with teachers, participated. The event concluded with a feedback session where students expressed their enjoyment and learning from the workshop. The team returned to SMIT on 1st August.
