Brief Description
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Student Research Forum (SRF) at SMIT organized a workshop on "Research Horizons Seminar" on 31st July, 2024, in the Seminar Hall, where Dr. Dheeraj Kumar, Assistant Professor-I, Dept. of ME provided key insights on the basics of research and how research work plays an important role in students life.
He started by giving a brief introduction to research, explaining why it is important for students and how to brainstorm research topics. Then, through compelling examples and case studies, he enlightened us about the various forms of research and how to conduct an efficient literature survey.
After this, he enlightened us about the various ways of gathering data, conducting research and how to structure the research paper properly. Throughout the workshop there was a warmth and welcoming environment between the speaker and the attendees.
He concluded by describing the ethical considerations we should keep in mind while conducting our research work. Lastly, a few students present there asked questions and Dr. Dheeraj Kumar cleared their doubts.
