Report on webinar “Career in Nursing-Alumni Talk” held on 5th July 2021.
Overview: Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) had organized a webinar titled “Career in Nursing-Alumni Talk” on 5th July 2021 from 3 pm to 4 pm in Microsoft Teams (MST) Platform.
The webinar was designed to equip the prospective students with nursing as the right career option for those candidates who have the zeal and interest to serve the mankind. To let the aspiring nurses know that they can get into this career at different levels. The webinar was attended by 98 students from various schools/organizations of different parts of the country.
Programme: The webinar began with a welcome note by Mrs. Binita Khati, Associate Professor, Admission Officer and the 1st batch alumni of SMCON. The speaker of the session were Prof. Champa Sharma, Officiating Principal, SMCON, Ms. Milan Tirwa, Associate Professor, AIIMS College of Nursing, New Delhi, Ms. Sarita Bhattarai, Associate Professor, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, College of Nursing, Ranchi, Jharkhand, Ms. Pragati Sharma, Assistant Program Director for Midwifery Leadership Programme, World Health Organization, India and Ms. Anila Jorden Bhutia, 2nd Year MSc. Nursing, SMCON. The alumni discussed about the nursing as a career and how SMCON helped in building their career and how they miss SMCON.
Participants asked many question to the speakers and were very much satisfied by their answers. Participants gave positive feedback and were interested in nursing.
