Event: Suturing Workshop

Venue: Nursing Foundation Lab, Level 5, CRH

            : Obstetrics and Gynaecology Lab, Level 2, SMCON

The Student Council of Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing organized a Suturing Workshop on 5^th and 6^th July 2024. The event started with the welcome speech by Sub Coordinator, Student Council followed by the address of Principal and Vice Principal.

Two skilled resource person Dr. Varun Kumar Singh, Professor, Department of General Surgery, CRH and Prof. Binita Khati, Head of Dept. Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing conducted a lecture before proceeding to hands on practice. Two mentors each from department of Medical Surgical Nursing and Obstetrical and Gynaecological Nursing, namely Mrs. Shakila Basnett, Assistant Professor, Ms. Barsha Basnett, Mrs. Reshika Rai, & Ms. Anila Jorden Bhutia, Tutors, guided the students throughout the workshop. Total 109 students participated in the workshop along with 11 faculty.

 6^th semester and 4^th year participants appreciated the workshop and mentioned that the workshop was systematically organized and expressed desire for it to be repeated in the future as it was beneficial and a great opportunity to learn through hands on training.

Principal, SMCON congratulated the organizing committee for the successful event. The event ended with great appreciation from the resource person and the participants.
