Report on World Hypertension Day 2022

On the occasion of World Hypertension Day celebration on 17^th May, 2022, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) has organized a health talk on the theme,“ Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer” from 2 am to 3 pm in level 7 (Medical Ward) of Central Referral Hospital. The objective of the programme was to communicate to the lay public the importance of hypertension and its serious medical complications, and to provide information on prevention, detection and treatment.  A total of five 1^st year M.Sc. nursing students were participated in the health talk.  They also conducted a demonstration/re-demonstration to the public like patient and patient party on how to take B.P. and also quiz competition among the audience and distributing the prizes & distributed pamphlet about the diets to eat and avoid to prevention hypertension.  The programme was very fruitful and effective.
