The Shasya Utsav: Makar Sankranti, Bihu, Pongal was held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. The event was organized by Student Council and attended by more than 500 students.

EVENT OBJECTIVES:

• To provide a fun and festive Makar Sankranti celebration for the students.
• To promote various cultures of our Country.

EVENT SUMMARY:

The Shasya Utsav: Makar Sankranti, Bihu, Pongal was held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. The event was organized by Student Council and attended by more than 500 students. The event's objectives were to provide a fun and festive Makar Sankranti celebration for the students, and to promote creativity and self-expression. The event began with lighting up the bonfire, along opening speech by the emcees followed by a welcoming speech by Director Sir.

Next, there was prize distribution for the Winner of "Kati Patang" and "Patang Palette". There was a pot breaking game organized for the faculty members. The highlight of the evening was dances performed from various parts of India which included Punjabi, Bengali, Nepali, Bihu, South Indian and Gujarati. The melodious performance from Chromatix was a major hit, along with the ramp walk that represented the various ethnicity of our country. The event concluded with a DJ night where attendees could dance and party the night away.
