DESCRIPTION
75th Republic Day Sports Fest was an event where the students of SMIT got the chance to relive their school days and childhood. It gave a nostalgic feeling to everyone who participated. It was also the first time in SMIT where all the students got the chance to participate in an Indian native game like Kho-Kho and track & field events like 100m shuttle run, and 4 x 50m relay. Kho-Kho and track & field events were conducted in the morning. Volleyball was conducted from 3:00PM to 6:00PM. We had participants all the way from the first year to the final year. This event helped create an atmosphere of friendly competition and camaraderie amongst the students of all the years. We have plans to conduct a similar event at a larger scale during the Independence Day 2024 (15th August), where we can include more native Indian games that are not played often in SMIT to inspire the students to stay active and healthy while having a lot of fun.
Safety:
- In order to ensure the safety of the students participating in Kho-Kho, we had wrapped the bamboo poles with brown tape, so that no one cuts their palms or has any bruises.

- There were a total of 40 participants, where most of them participated in the 100m Shuttle Run, 4 x 50m relay and Kho-Kho
- They were 4 teams that participated in volleyball:
- Team Hard Hitters
- Team Pockets
- Boka Juniors
- Doctors
