EVENT SUMMARY
On 27th January 2024, the Microsoft Learn Student Club (MLSC) organized its first event. We organized a boot camp for Git and GitHub and also gave insights on Open source as well. A total of approx 120 people registered, among which there were around 80 students present.
The boot camp started with an introduction to Git and then further focusing on GitHub. Students learned how to create repositories, fork projects, etc. Everything was taught step by step with proper assistance at every step to students. An introduction to open source was also provided to the students. Students learned how to contribute in open-source platforms. Finally at the end of the boot camp, we divided the students into groups of four and gave them certain challenges (tasks) to complete. We also provided them with resources through our common WhatsApp group.
In addition to the technical aspects, the boot camp emphasized the importance of teamwork and effective communication. Participants gained knowledge about Git, GitHub, and Opensource.
