I am also happy to note that the University has included several new curriculum like M.Tech, Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Electronics and Advance Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Nanotechnology, B.Tech in Civil Engineering and Applied Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering and Bachelor in Medical Lab Technician.

The Central Referral Hospital under SMU has also been equipped with facilities like Dialysis Unit and Central Laboratory which will greatly improve the medical services and benefit the people of Sikkim and also of the neighbouring States.
