Programme Overview

The MHA (Master of Hospital Administration) Programme (launched in the academic year 2010-11) currently offered under the Department of Health Innovation strives to prepare health professionals to transform into knowledgeable, ethical and innovative health administrators who can contribute positively to the betterment of the healthcare sector. The programme aims to create competent personnel in the field of hospital & healthcare in a professional manner to optimize care delivery and healthcare costs without compromise on quality. This is achieved through

  • Strong methodological foundations with a touch of multi-disciplinary expertise
  • Practical exposure in an attached hospital setting
  • Inter-disciplinary research opportunities

Our MHA students receive extensive training at the renowned Kasturba Hospital, a state-of-the-art tertiary care facility established in 1953. The hospital boasts over 2,000 beds and is equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic departments. 

 

KMC Accreditation & Recognition

Kasturba Hospital holds nearly nine accreditations, including NABH accreditation, ISO certification, and AAHRPP accreditation, covering its laboratory and research facilities.  The programme provides exposure towards workings of a hospital through daily postings in more than 25 departments.

 

Programme Duration

The Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) is a full-time, two-year postgraduate program featuring a semester -based curriculum and a full semester dedicated to project/ thesis work and internship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Sciences/ Health Sciences/ Allied Health Sciences/ any other stream* from a UGC recognized University with a minimum of 55% of marks (in aggregate) are eligible to apply for the course.
  • Candidate from streams other than health science/ medical science/ allied health will mandatorily attend two weeks' bridge programme offered by the Department before the commencement of the programme.

 

Selection Criteria

Based on the merit of rank obtained in the entrance examination and/or personal interview. In the absence of an interview/entrance the candidates CAT score will be considered.

 

Placement Assistance

Through collaborations with industry and research institutes, we offer placement and internship assistance to students who successfully complete the program. Our courses prepare students for promising careers as administrators and managers in:
