Health Awareness Programme on Importance of Post Natal Care 2020

On 29th January 2020, 1st year M.Sc. Nursing students had organized a health awareness programme on 'Importance of Post Natal Care' for antenatal mother and ICDS staff at Rangpo , PHC.

CONTEXT:

Postnatal period in a life of a woman is very crucial as series of changes occurs in her body and life. Woman has to take care of her baby as well as herself. This is the time she is more stressed. She may not be able to cope up with the situation, if she is not well prepared .During this period she needs constant care, support and information to take care of herself and the newborn baby.

OBJECTIVE:

This programme was aimed to provide information about the post-natal care to the antennal mother and to the ICDS staff members.

PROGRAMME:

The programme was attended by CMO Singtam District Hospital, MO Rangpo PHC, the antenatal mothers registered under Rangpo PHC and the ICDS staff members of the area. Information on postnatal care, care of the newborn and the prevention of the mental health problems faced during the postnatal period like postpartum blue, depression & postnatal psychosis was provided.
