On the auspicious occasion of International Women's Day, a blood donation camp was organized by Red Ribbon Club of Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing under the guidance of Prof. Binita Khati, Student's Coordinator and Nodal Teacher of Red Ribbon Club and Principal Prof. Champa Sharma in collaboration with Central Referral Hospital. The motive behind the camp was to encourage people to save life by donating the precious blood. Dr. Amrita Dhakal and Nursing Officers Ms. Luma Shrestha and Ms. Purnima Sharma helped in the camp. Bsc. Nursing Students Ms. Kiden Ongmu Lachungpa, Ms. Chozang Dolma Tamang, Ms. Relisha Pradhan, Ms. Ayushi Timsina, and Ms. Geeta Pradhan actively volunteered for proper conduction of the camp. Ms. Somee Jolasee Lepcha, the final Year BSc. Nursing student was the first donor in the camp. 33 people (mostly BSc. Nursing Students) turned up to donate their valuable blood. After proper requisite screening of all the voluntary donors, 33 units of blood were collected. A donor's card and refreshment were given to each donor as a token of gratitude for their heroic role. A certificate of appreciation was given to Red Ribbon Club of SMCON by Medical Superintendent of Central referral hospital. All the teachers, students and the residents of the area enthusiastically participated in the program. The event was a success.
