PROGRAM DETAILS

OVERVIEW

BSc Nursing is a four year program. Students have excellent and challenging opportunities to explore nursing through exposure visits to Communities, Primary Health Centres, and Community Health Centres.

The college is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council, the regulatory authority for nursing education in India. The degree is awarded by the Sikkim Manipal University.

 

Course Outline for BSc Nursing

ELIGIBILITY

  • Minimum education: Candidate must have passed in 10+2 examination and also have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually; must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology at the qualifying examination (10+2) from recognized board. English should be a compulsory subject in 10+2.
  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December 2022.
  • Candidate should be medically fit.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Graduates can be -Nurse Clinician, Nurse Educator, Nurse Administrator or Nurse Researcher
  • Graduates can work in Government Organization, Non-government Organization, Educational Institution, Community Setting, Army Nursing, Navy Nursing, Railway Nursing, School Health Nursing etc.
  • They can serve in the capacity of a staff nurse, sister and/or a supervisor in the branches of Medical Nursing, Surgical Nursing, O.T. Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Cardiothoracic Nursing, Neurological Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and in Gynae, Maternity and Obstetrical Nursing in hospital set up.
  • Community Health Nursing plays an extremely significant role in working for health and in implementing the National Health Programs, especially in MCH & FW programs.
  • There is scope of higher studies i.e Masters, M. Phil and Doctorate in nursing, MBA, Hospital Administration, Master degree in Microbiology, Psychology etc.

  • First Year fee is inclusive of Registration fees and Caution Deposit.
  • There is a provision of payment of annual course fees in lump sum or in two installments. There is no provision of installment for hostel, mess & utility charges.
  • Payment to be made either in lump sum or at least the 1st installment during the admission. 2nd installment to be paid in January 2025 for first year.
  • Mode of Payment
  • The fee should be remitted by a Online/ Demand Draft of any bank in favour of “Sikkim Manipal University” payable at “Gangtok”at the time of admission.
  • Payment of fees in cash will not be accepted under any circumstances.
