One-Week Training Program on “Uses of Sophisticated instruments in Material Science and Nano-Technology” is jointly organized by Dept. of Physics and Dept. of Chemistry in collaboration with Center for Materials Science & Nano Technology (CMSNT), SMIT during 15 – 21 September 2022 at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), Sikkim under SYNERGISTIC TRAINING PROGRAM UTILIZING THE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE (STUTI), an initiative of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India.
All the outstation participants will be reimbursed for train ticket (sleeper class). Accommodation, food and training materials expenses will be borne by the DST.
Eligibility Criteria for Participants of the Training Program
Person of Indian origin; Minimum qualification should be Post Graduate (Science) or B. Tech (Technology); Professors/Scientists/ Post-Doc Fellows/ Ph.D. Fellows/Industry persons who are actively involved in research and development (R&D).
Not more than 3 participants from one institute per training should be allowed from outside the host institute.
How to reach SMIT, Sikkim:
By Train: One can travel by train from any part of the country to New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway station. From there the SMIT is about three hours travel by road. One can take shared Sumo/Bolero coming towards Gangtok. Bus facility is also available from SNT Bus stand at Siliguri, nearby to NJP railway station. It is suggested to come by bus from SNT bus stop Siliguri or shared Sumo/Bolero from NJP railway station coming towards Gangtok, and get down near SMIT gate at Majitar.
How to register for the program:
Candidate should fill the attached form (Biodata) and send the scan copy to the following email IDs latest by 31 August 2022.
It is requested to give it a wide circulation among faculties/researchers/PhD scholars/Industry person who are actively involved in research in the field in material science, Nano technology and the relevant fields, and encourage them to apply.
