Report on Event "Artistic Diversity" organised by Gender Champions

On 20th of November 2021, we gender champions of Sikkim Manipal college of physiotherapy had organised an interdepartmental cultural competition. The theme of our event was “Artistic diversity “ and giving meaning to theme, we showed different gender equality contribute and participate equally in the event. Culture might justify the oppression of women, but also queries the stereotypical binaries that have represented people from ethnocultural minorities as peculiarly resistant to gender equality.

The event was hosted at auditorium of the college. The judges of this event was Prof Dr Nikita Joshi Sonwal (Hod department of physiotherapy), Dr Deepanjali Rai (Assistant professor , department of physiotherapy), Dr Pratik Chettri (Assistant Professor, department of physiotherapy), Dr Binita Pradhan (lecturer, department of physiotherapy) and Dr Prabin pradhan (lecturer, department of physiotherapy). We had organised four events - 1. Solo dance, 2. Solo song, 3. Group dance and 4. Group song. There were 4 participants in both solo song as well as solo dance. Karma tashi bhutia of 2nd year bpt stood 1st , Denisha singh  of 3rd year stood 2nd and Jigmee Sherpa of final year stood 3rd in solo dance where as Kesang wangmu bhutia of 1st year bpt stood 1st, Simran Sherpa of bpt 2nd year stood 2nd and both Anand Raj Pradhan as well as Akshata Rajesh mishra stood 3rd in solo song. For the group event there were three batches participating in both group dance and group song. The winner of group song as well as group dance was 2nd years followed by 1st years as first runners up and 3rd year as second runners up. The overall winner of cultural competition was Bpt second years.
