REPORT ON EDUCATIONAL VISIT

Organized by: Second Semester B.Sc. Nursing (2021-2025 Batch)

Context: Educational visit is a major educational element, which also explore the natural environment of study. It also provides refreshment from hectic classroom teaching. So, as a curriculum for Second Semester B.Sc. Nursing program, an educational visit was organized in the following areas: Incinerator; CSSD; Hospital Canteen of C.R.H, Tadong, Gangtok. Following the visit, presentation was held on 2nd April 2022 to share the experience of the students visiting those areas.

 

Objectives: The main objective of the program was to impart knowledge regarding the functioning of various areas visited during the visit.

 

The Program: The Second Semester B.Sc. Nursing students from Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) organized a report presentation on the educational visit to the above-mentioned areas. The students were divided in three groups and were guided by Assistant Lecturers (Mrs. Manita Sharma, Mrs. Mousami Tamang, Ms. Dikshya Rai and Mrs. Rajani Sharma). This visit presentation started at 10 am till 1 pm. All the respected faculty members were invited. Through this presentation, the students came to know about the functioning of various areas, working mechanisms of various machinery (Incinerator, Autoclave, Shredding machine, ETO, Cold storage etc) present in the respective areas. They prepared the models which was displayed during the presentation. The staffing pattern along with roles and responsibilities of each staff were also discussed during the presentation. Overall, the visit presentation was successful and was appreciated by Principal, SMCON, HODs and all other faculty.
