Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) has organized a national webinar “Geriatric Care during Pandemic” on 28th April 2021 from 3pm to 5pm in Microsoft Teams (MST) Platform.The objective of the webinar was to update the target group on knowledge of Geriatric care during pandemic and apply the knowledge into practice in current scenario. The webinar was attended by 154 participants from various institution/organization of different parts of the country.

Overview: Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) has organized a national webinar Geriatric Care during Pandemic on 28th April 2021 from 3pm to 5pm in Microsoft Teams (MST) Platform.The objective of the webinar was to update the target group on knowledge of Geriatric care during pandemic and apply the knowledge into practice in current scenario. The webinar was attended by 154 participants from various institution/organization of different parts of the country.

 

Programme: The webinar began with a welcome note by Ms. Shashirani Pangambam, Organizing Secretary of the webinar. The first session was delivered by Ms. Wangkheimayum Ashalata Devi, Associate Professor, SMCON regarding COVID 19 and impact of COVID 19 on elderly people challenges. The second session was delivered by Ms. Milan Tirwa, Associate Professor, College of Nursing, AIIMS, New Delhi. She explained on management of geriatric client during pandemic.

 

Feedback: Participants were asked to give their feedback in a structured feedback questionnaire containing 7 questions. Majority of the participants expressed that the webinar was very informative and the knowledge gained will be helpful for clinical practice.
