The NSS Volunteers of Sikkim Manipal University conducted a series of outdoor activities during its observation of Rashtriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month) 2019. The student volunteers visited three different localities to organise awareness programme during the same.

30 NSS Volunteers from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sikkim Manipal University visited Lumsey Jr. Secondary School and conducted a series of activities to create awareness among the students on the 18th September, 2019. The volunteers organised awareness programmes related to various issues. They focused on the following issues of concern.
a) Nutrition and Malnourishment
b) Swachhata and Hygiene
c) Water Pollution and Water Conservation
d) Menstrual Hygiene
e) Vaccination and immunity
f) Use of plastic and its consequences
The volunteers interacted with the students and also organised quiz and painting events to make the activities more interesting.

Another 20 NSS Volunteers from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sikkim Manipal University visited Biraspati Sr. Secondary School, Ranipool and conducted a series of activities to create awareness among the students on the 18th September, 2019. The volunteers organised awareness programmes related to various issues. They focused on the following issues of concern.
a) Nutrition and Malnourishment
b) Swachhata and Hygiene
c) Water Pollution and Water Conservation
d) Menstrual Hygiene
e) Vaccination and immunity
f) Use of plastic and its consequences
The volunteers interacted with the students and also organised quiz and painting events to make the activities more interesting. They also met the NSS Volunteers of the school and interacted about the activities they have taken up.
The NSS volunteers also met some shopkeepers and general public and oriented them about the evils of plastic use and other issues.

3. A Visit to CS Rai Government Jr. High School, Arithang
Another batch of NSS Volunteers from the Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing, Sikkim Manipal University visited CS Rai Government Jr. High School, Arithang and conducted a series of activities to create awareness among the students on the 19th September, 2019. The volunteers organised awareness programmes related to various issues. They focused on the following issues of concern.
a) Nutrition and Malnourishment
b) Anemia
c) Swachhata and Hygiene
d) Water Pollution and Water Conservation
e) Menstrual Hygiene
f) Vaccination and immunity
g) Exclusive Breastfeeding
The volunteers interacted with the students and oriented them about the issues.
The Volunteers also conducted door to door campaign regarding all these issues.
