Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) is one of the constituent colleges of Sikkim Manipal University. SMCON is established in 2001 for imparting four year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) Degree Programme. The Master of Science in Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) post graduate programme of two year duration is introduced since 2016 with all major five nursing specializations. Both the programmes are recognized by the regulatory authorities for nursing education in India. Degrees are awarded by the Sikkim Manipal University. The annual intake capacity is 100 for B.Sc. Nursing and 25 for M.Sc. Nursing programme. Students from all over the country are eligible to take admission in these programmes.

On 12th April 2024, the final Year B.Sc. Nursing students (interns) of Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) has organized a School Health Awareness Programme on the topic “Physical and Mental health of adolescents” at Government Secondary School, Chanatar Rangpo, Sikkim.
On 9th April 2024 the students of SMCON, VI th Semester performed a Health Talk On Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan. at Maternal Child Healthcare Center , STNM Hospital.
On 23rd March 2024, poster making competition was organized by Department of Marketing, CRH in collaboration with Respiratory Department on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day with the theme “Yes, we can end TB” at Central Referral Hospital, 5th mile Tadong.
Final Year B.Sc. Nursing students from Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) organized a School Health Awareness Programme on topic “Child Abuse, Suicide, Child trafficking and Peer Pressure” and Health Camp which was conducted at Govt Sec School, Majhitar.
On 16th March 2024 a camp on "Identification and Assessment Camp for Children with Special Needs( age 3-18) " was organised by members of Persons with Disabilities Community of Sikkim in the Paediatric OPD of old STNM from 9 am to 5 pm.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Sports committee of SMCON organized a program on 8th March 2024.
1st Year M.Sc. Nursing students (Child Health Nursing and Community Health Nursing speciality) from Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) organised a Nutritional Programme on the topic “Toddlers and Pre-schoolers Diet” at ICDS Majhigoan, Rangpo.
On 3rd November 2023, a School Health Programme was organized at Aho Shanti Secondary School of Aho Yangtam GPU, by the Vth Semester B. Sc Nursing students of Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing on the topic “Substance Abuse” The programme started at 11 am with a welcome speech by Ms Swastika Rai, student of SMCON and felicitation of the Chief Guest Mrs. Tshering Doma Bhutia Ward Panchayat.

It is my immense luck and fortune to be the 1st batch of SMCON. I thank SMCON for nurturing me to become a confident student and now a dedicated faculty. SMCON have taught me so many things in life from a student to a faculty. I will always be grateful to SMCON.
SMCON was my first brush with the real world. ‘If I got a chance to re-choose an institute to study, which one would I choose?’ I would mentally evaluate and each-time-every-time, I would decide to pick SMCON over other institutes.” SMCON makes you resilient and helps you grow as a person.
It is my privilege to be the part of SMCON which shaped the holistic being in me. Facing various personal and professional challenges so far, the recognition for this institute never dimmed but always grew. The environment and learning opportunities which SMCON provides is very rare to find.
SMCON was a great school to earn my bachelor’s in nursing degree. I feel like we were prepared to take the exam like NCLEX and an advanced degree. I am glad of all the clinical hours I got to complete which helped me to become a better nurse and advance my career. I appreciate it all.
SMCON provides the best quality education to the students. It has given me all the necessary lessons to face any kind of challenges that come my way and to lead from the front. I consider myself very fortunate to be the alumni of this college.
As an alumni of SMCON ,I would like to express my gratitude to all my teachers who has given me a wonderful experience during my 4 years of BSc Nursing course. I would be indebted to all the faculties for providing us with a great platform for learning and enriching our Skills and knowledge.
