NSS - SMU SPECIAL CAMP HELD AT MARCHAK GPU

• Unit I of the NSS Cell, Sikkim Manipal University organised its Special Camp at Samlik Marchak GPU, East Sikkim from 12^th May 2022 to 15^th May 2022. The Camp was inaugurated on 12^th May 2022 in the presence of the Panchayat President, Secretary, Panchayat Members and volunteers and a series of activities were conducted during the camp. As part of the camp, the team visited Samlick Junior High School and conducted various activities such as Awareness Campaigns on Sexual Harassment and Menstrual Hygiene, Essay Writing and Painting Competitions on environmental themes, Quiz Competition and Sports Competitions for the students at the school. 
• The team also conducted Safai Abhiyan in the Marchak GPU area wherein the employees of the Village Administrative Centre and villagers also took active participation. Two separate door-to-door campaigns on Menstrual Hygiene, Covid 19, Cleanliness and Sanitation, Proper Use of Plastic, Wet and Dry waste management were also conducted during the camp. Apart from this, cultural programme, Yoga sessions and Quiz competition were also organised for the volunteers at the camp which ended with a closing ceremony. NSS Volunteers of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, SMU and Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing took part in the said camp.
