Prof. Chandrashekhar Bhuiyan serves as the Associate Director (Research and Development) at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), alongside his role as Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. Prof. Bhuiyan brings a wealth of expertise in academic leadership, research, and teaching to his current role.

Prof. Chandrashekhar Bhuiyan boasts over 26 years of research experience, garnered from esteemed institutions in India and abroad. His expertise encompasses a diverse range of fields, including Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), SAR Interferometry, Geostatistics, Trench Survey and Mapping, and Geophysical Techniques such as Resistivity and Ground Penetrating Radar.

As a prolific researcher, Prof. Chandrashekhar Bhuiyan has made significant contributions to the scientific community. He has authored 39 articles published in reputable journals and conference proceedings, in addition to an International Book Chapter. Furthermore, he serves as a reviewer for prestigious international journals, including Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, International Journal of Remote Sensing, and Natural Hazards, among others.
