"Department of Computer science at a Glance"

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in the year 1997 and continues to remain one of the best performing departments of the University. Having established a firm footing in the field of technical education today, we can proudly reminiscence a wonderful period of growth by leaps and bounds for 25 long years. The department stemmed with the intent to provide educational innovation, advance knowledge and educate student. This spirit still guides us in every possible way to tailor, shape and build the finest technocrats. The cohesive unit of dedicated, qualified and motivated faculty members with a blend of experience and exuberance led by a young and vibrant leader has held the departmental banner flying high for the last 25 years.

 

Currently, the department offers the following five programs:

  • Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering – NBA Accredited (180 seats)
  • Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) (60 seats)
  • Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering (IoT and Cyber Security including Blockchain Technology) (60 seats)
  • Master of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering (18 seats)
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science & Engineering 

 

With expertise in diverse fields ranging from Wireless Sensor Networks, Mobile Computing, Quantum Computing, Robotics, Natural Language Processing, Computer Networks, and Big Data to Geographical Information System, our faculty members and students has produced many quality research publications with citations. Apart from regular academic course, the teachers and students are also engaged in conducting workshops in alliance with renowned external agencies like IITs, NITs, DRDO, ISRO, TIFR, ISI Kolkata, Sikkim University, Assam University to name a few.

 

The rigorous training that the students undergo makes them worthy professionals with mental agility and technical skill sets sought after by the IT Industry. No wonder, the students of Computer Science and Engineering bag the most number of on-campus placement offers and our glittering alumni are working with organizations like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Oracle, Dell, IBM, ANZ, JP Morgan Chase, CISCO, eBay, American Express, Nomura, Wells Fargo and Tata Consultancy Services to name a few.
